I Finished!

I finally finished "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," and let me just say, IT ROCKED!!! It exceeded all my expectations for the conclusion to a fantastic series. I can't wait to see the movie because it's going to be awesome (of course not as awesome as the book, but awesome, nonetheless)! I'm looking forward to unpacking the rest of the series because I plan to read it over again from start to finish now.

I don't want to say anymore because I don't want to spoil anything for those that haven't read the book yet, but I'm dying to know what other people thought of it! Leave a comment and share your thoughts... favorite part... the thing that surprised you most... whatever. And if you haven't read the book yet, be warned -- the comments may contain spoilers, so read them at your own risk.

  1. I loved how everyone is killed off in the end and how Dobby takes over the world. Such a good ending! Hee, just joking!

I really did like the book. Nice way to finish things off. I love Snape's story line throughout the books. Very sneaky and I like it. I found it a bit frustrating with all the wandering around they did but when reading it a second time, it wasn't so bad. I think I was just anxious about getting to the ending.

Hey I am reading a series called The Bloody Jack Adventures and it's pretty good. Not a scary book or a gross book. It's about a girl who ends up on a ship during the 1800's as a ship's boy. There are four books so far in the series and a 5th one coming out soon. Good stuff.

What did you think of Parry Hotter...I mean Harry Potter?

  2. I just have to say -- I was right about Professer Snape all along! I just knew he would turn out to be good in the end and there must have been a very good reason he killed Dumbledore. I love how in the end, knowing the full story, he becomes a hero!

I was very sad that she killed off Dobby and Hedwig, though! Not to mention the other human characters that died throughout the book. But I knew there would be some blood-letting, so I wasn't too surprised.

I am already about a third of the way through the first book again! -- Laura

  3. I just finished it too, Laura! One of Katie's friends sent her a copy, and she finished it in 2 days before they left on furlough so I could have it. We just got back from 3 days vacation in the tropics and I read it while they were there - great vacation book. I agree with you both - I loved the Snape story line. But I also loved how she climaxed the book with the battle at Hogwarts. Great way to end it!

  4. I loved the ending at Hogwarts, too! That was some good fighting. I liked how she threw in some sass between characters like Molly and Bellatrix. Excellent little series of books!

  5. The Battle of Hogwarts was one of the best parts of the whole book -- I agree with you, Julie. Also, I forgot to mention it before, but I LOVED how Neville was the one who killed the snake in the end! The kid who was always teased and picked on and seemed afraid of his own shadow in the beginning of the series became a hero in the end and even a teacher at Hogwarts. Love it!

ABSOLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTLY LOVED THE whole freak'n series man!! Thank you Laurlita for turning us on to this incredible adventure. I would like to say that I knew in some way Dumbledore would be back in some way or fashion in this book. I was however wrong about Snape, but I'm truely glad that I was. I really kinda knew in my heartest of hearts that he was good all along, and wanted to believe in Dumbledores words about him, but I had my doubts until now.... LOVE HIM!!! Anywayzzzzzzzzzzzz... i've read it twice now! I finished my copy on July 24th@11:30am had to read it a second time to the boys, and it took us about 2 1/2 weeks, due to scheduling issues.

Well i think snape was the key to the whole book, and the end of this book was great. I think right from the get he had control of everything pretty much because of him the Dark Lord was stopped , yeahhhhh!!!!!!!!
he played the best role i guess, besides Harry since he was the puppet. Mabey Harry was just the best puppet.

Hope i didnt spoil the end for anyone.

    -Johnny.
i loved i thought that it was the best book so far. I think that snape was the best person in the whole series, he was loyal to Dumbledore the whole time, and in some kinda way loved harry but hide everything extremely well. He was just totally awsome.

  9. Thank you, Stefan Crew for leaving your thoughts! I'm sorry I wasn't there to read the last book aloud, but I am sure Ronda more than did it justice. I am glad to have been able to share in this adventure with the three of you. By the way, I agree with Johnny -- the last book was definitely the "gold medal." Silver goes to The Prisoner of Azkaban, and Bronze to either the Goblet of Fire or the Order of the Phoenix. I can't decide. I will save my final judgment for after I have read all the books again, one after the other!
